I love Little Boots and so should you. As much as I want a new album to follow on from the brilliant 'Hands' which had such great ElectroPop singles such as 'New in Town', 'Remedy' and 'Earthquake', Little Boots has been keeping herself busy with DJ sets and remixing tracks. Here's a mix she put together for a recent DJ set at the closing party at Space in Ibiza. It's a 52 minute slab of disco which might be a bit too much if you're indoors on your own but if you're having a bit of a gathering or a party, it's about the same length as an album so if you can't afford to get Little Boots to turn up and DJ in your living room, here's the next best thing. Pop this on your playlist and pretend she's the sound selector in the corner bopping about.

Little Boots - Shake Victoria Christina Hesketh is better known by her stage name 'Little Boots' and first caught my attention in late 2007 with her bedroom demo track videos when she was building her fanbase via YouTube channel. By the time she released her fantastic electropop album 'Hands' her popularity had grown massively, her first single 'New in Town' was everywhere. I remember being inNew York at the time and hearing it in various places over there and thinking 'Wow, this is that singer from Dead Disco?!' Here's a 40 minute mixtape that she put together featuring a mix of Factory Floor, Screamin' Rachael and Roxy Music. It's pretty dancy, a bit house, very electro. It's also in WAV format and 411MB so you may want to have a listen to it first and see if it's your cup of tea before downloading it and running it through an mp3 converter. Some helpful soul on SoundCloud worked out a tracklisting, with only two unidentified tracks, do you know what they are? Factory Floor - Two Different Ways Azari & III - Reckless (Tiga remix) Deee-Lite - What Is Love (Holographic Goatee mix) Kim Ann Foxman - Creature Roxy Music - Love is the Drug (Todd Terje Dub) ??? Larry Heard - The Sun Can't Compare Screamin' Rachael - Fun With Bad Boys (Jack Me Bad Boy mix) ??? Kylie Minogue - Slow (remix) L-Vis 1990 - Feel the Void Little Boots - Into the Future _ |
Making your music folder better, one song at a time.
_Pretty much everyday I seem to find some amazing exclusive tracks that
some awesome artists are giving away for free as a special one off
promotion. Today, it occured to me that instead of just downloading
them, maybe reposting them on facebook if they're special enough/someone I know and
then moving on, I should start a little music blog on here. Even if it
doesn't last forever, it's still a free song for you each day that it
does! I'd say the character of this blog is mostly electropop and singer/songwriter but I've got plans for mathcore, post-rock and glitch-hop. A lot of these tracks have a download limit of 100 so get in there on the quick. I'd also point out that a lot of the songs will need renaming once you've downloaded them so I'd do them one at a time. Archives
